Linux Support Specialist

Rate: £450-500 per day

We require a Linux Support Specialist for our higher education client to prepare new software for their 400 PC Linux teaching labs, which are running Red-Hat 8 derivative Rocky Linux 8. Liasing with end users around requirements, version management, operational and user acceptance testing.

Essential Skills:

3+ years of specialist Linux desktop and server support and 5+ years in IT desirable.
Red-Hat/Ubuntu systems admin knowledge is essential with GUI configuration knowledge desirable.
Ability to migrate running systems from one OS version to another, retaining user data and configuration is essential.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively both as part of a team and in isolation whilst troubleshooting issues is essential.
Any Bash Scripting knowledge is desirable as is experience working in a centrally managed and configuration environment.
