Network Engineer

My client is undergoing a programme to modernise, consolidate and strategically align medical devices across their estate. They are looking for a Network Engineer with strong network administration skills to work with their Servers, Network & Security team to drive the design and implementation of required solutions include Application Modernisation, SD-WAN refresh, Firewall upgrades & the automation of software upgrades and configuration deployment tasks for Cisco Switches.

Skills & Experience:
* Administration of Cisco layer 2 switching infrastructure, including VLANs, EtherChannel, and VLAN trunking
* Create and modify Firewall rules on Palo Alto Firewalls.
* Adhere to ServiceNow Change Management processes for planning, implementing, and documenting network changes.
* Experience in Python Scripting to automate software upgrades and configuration deployment tasks for Cisco Switches, enhancing operational efficiency and standards

General Responsibilities/deliverables:
Support on the design and implementation of key projects within the Infrastructure Refresh Programme, including but not limited to:

a. Application Modernisation
b. SD-WAN Refresh
c. Firewall Upgrades
d. CISCO Switches
e. VLAN Configuration
f. Setup of Firewall rules

Support on design and documentation

Lead on the automation of software upgrades and configuration deployment tasks for Cisco Switches.

Leverage Scripting and existing tooling, eg SolarWinds to automate software upgrades and configuration deployment tasks for Cisco Switches, enhancing operational efficiency and standards.

Lead on the assessment of all Network-owned apps and services against the above standards and produce and action a remediation plan where non-compliance exists.

This role has been deemed outside IR35 and the work will dictate the amount of onsite required.
